Well, it looks like we will be televising our Friday, Oct. 30th all-day Operating Departments Budget work session. It will likely not go out live on LMC-TV, as The Women's Club of Mamaroneck, (504 Cortlandt Ave., Mamaroneck) where it is being held, is not connected to the cable network, but hopefully will be broadcast at convenient viewer times. We are hoping LMC-TV will be able to also make it available on demand from their website. It is my hope that the more our constituents know about the budget, the better able they will be to comment on it at our Public Hearing on Wednesday, Dec. 2nd at 8:15 in the Courtroom of The Town Center. On Nov. 3rd, The Board will be meeting at 11:00 am in Conference Room A, in The Town Center, to discuss the Capital budget. Revenue issues will be gone over on Tuesday, Nov. 10th at 5:00 pm also in Conf. Room A where, on Tuesday, Nov. 17th at 5:00 pm, we will be having a General Budget Worksession.
Everyone is invited and welcome to all the meetings, but only at the Public Hearing, on Dec. 2nd will they be permitted to speak.
Details of the Tentative Budget can be found on the town website. www.townofmamaroneck.org
As we all learn more about the proposed budget, I would welcome blog comments as well as e-mails. My arguments to my fellow Board Members has been the more our constituents know, the better equipped they will be to comment intelligently on the budget. Hoping to hear from you.
Ernie

Congratulations to the Board. Televising that session is interesting news. It appears from your blog that you and Mr. Fishman worked hard to accomplish this. You both deserve thanks.
Will the same be done for the other budget sessions? Also, has any thought been given to getting public input, other than here on your blog, prior to the Public Hearing.
It seems that the Public Hearing is scheduled too late in the process for the Town Board Members to get much benefit from what the residents of the Town are thinking on the subject. Even more so because of all the time it appears that the Board Members will have put into discussing it before the Public Hearing.
Unless the Town has a rabbit to pull from a hat, in this economy it will likely be a tough budget year and the more public involvement probably the better. Or maybe somebody in the Town will know where there is at least a small rabbit in a hat.
Can you tell us how can we get copies of the Budget Worksheets that are mentioned in the Town's calendar so we can understand what is being discussed in the sessions and what choices are being made as potential revenues and expenses are considered?
Also, how can we get a copy of the Town's Finance Committee report explaining the submitted budget and its recommendations. Will it be with the worksheets or the budget with those items on the Town's web site or here?
Thanks you very much for your efforts and your communications.
Heard we don't have a Finance Committee so don't hold your breath on that one.
Hopefully someone knows where to find that rabbit you spoke of as the slush fund, a.k.a. the reserve fund, may not be a bottomless pit.
Hopefully, people will tell those on the Council who keep telling us about the expenses they can't control to find some expenses they can control.
